The Flemish Mime
Federation, founded in 1992 by Marc Crauwels,
is the umbrella organisation who founded the mimefestival,
the mimecentre and the mimeschool.
The Federation is preparing to take new initiatives in the
near future as for instance a mimebureau for the promotion
of new flemish creations.

The
Mimecentre of Flanders / Belgium was created in 1992
and after an international study, opened to the public
in 1995. Its goal is to support a new generation of
mimes on a local and international level.

The Mimecentre proposes:
• To restore the image
of mime by supporting training and assistance to
the creation, thus satisfying the immense interest
of the youth for the theatre
• To establish a permanent
dialogue with the institutions
• To allow
the access to a network of information, thanks to
the publication of the mime newspaper (MIMEKRANT),
the creation of a specialized library, a video library
and a web site.

Today, the Mimecenter is a Belgium
organization that dialogues with similar organizations
everywhere in Europe. It has become meeting point for
Belgian and international creation. While becoming a
crossroads of the initiatives, we offer a structure
that allowes mime to exist on the theatre scene.
